Atom AE, U11, 2010-2011 (Walkerton Minor Hockey Association)

The Neilson Division Final was decided over a best of three series. The first game our boys came out strong in the first period and kept it close for a 1-0 score for Ripley heading into the second period. Strong defensive play warded off the Ripley team but more goals for them and no scoring for the Prestige boys left the Ripley team with the first win under their belt. The second game turned out to be a great defensive game from our boys and they held the Ripley team very close.

The Prestige boys went into the WOAA finals keen and eager to win after their successful OMHA playoff series against Mitchell and Collingwood. I think we can all agree that it gave the boys their boost to head into 12 home and home games with a sense of confidence and hunger to win.  

It has been quite a whirlwind of hockey for the Prestige Atom AE team since their quarter final series against Collingwood. Collingwood played some serious hockey in our best of five series against them. The Collingwood team came out very strong in their first two games of the series and swept us away with some high scoring games. The third game the Prestige AE's came out strong and closed the gap for a 5- 3 loss, but showed the Collingwood boys they weren't going with out a fight. PRESTIGE ATOMS TAKE MITCHELL TO GAME 5 AND WIN!!! IN OVERTIME!   The Prestige Atoms won in OT to put Mitchell out and move to the OMHA quarter finals.   The Prestige Atom AE have had a great start to their play -off season. The OMHA play off first round saw the Prestige team beat Saugen Shores in two straight wins. Lots of goals and excellent goal tending from our Matthew Donnelly gave the boys their boost to head into the second round of play offs against Mitchell. 

The Presitge Atom AE team travelled to Clinton on Saturday Dec. 11 to face the BCH IceDogs for a 1:00 game. Fans were excited to see these two teams face each other again as the last match left the IceDogs leaving Walkerton with their tales between their legs in a 1-0 lose.
