WAY TO GO PRESTIGE ATOM AE'S!
The Prestige boys went into the WOAA finals keen and eager to win after their successful OMHA playoff series against Mitchell and Collingwood. I think we can all agree that it gave the boys their boost to head into 12 home and home games with a sense of confidence and hunger to win.
An earlier victory against the Wingham Ironmen with two wins Home and Home gave the boys a 2 game advantage for the start of what would prove to be lots of hockey in a few short weeks.
Ripley, Shallow Lake, Milverton, Zurich, Saugeen Shores and BCH were lined up for the rest of our Home and Home series.
With some great victories (and a couple of not so great) the Prestige boys managed to keep all of us on the edge of our seats for some very close and well played games of hockey.
After such a slow start to their season, it was such a pleasure to see these boys put their heart and souls out to come together as a team and play some awesome games of hockey for the WOAA finals. As usual the boys played several close games and kept us parents guessing till the very end what the final outcome would be.
After lots of wins, a few losses and some edge of your seat overtime games the Prestige boys finished in a three way tie for second place. After a breakdown of points to decide who would advance to play in the Neilson Division finals against the Number One Ripley team, the Prestige boys pulled ahead.
Yippe...we aren't done yet boys!
