Or so it seemed for the second meeting against South Bruce. The girls did not seem that they were truly awake at the beginning of the game and struggled throughout the first period. South Bruce took total advantage of this and were able to get a commanding lead of 4-0 by the end of the first period.

So a lot has happened over the last month and I must apologize for not keeping up with the write ups. I took a couple of games to take some photos of the girls playing rather than writing notes about the games but these unfortunately have not turned out as well as expected. Following the last write up, the first group of scheduled games came to an end and more teams were added to our group. Up until now the girls were in the middle of the group between Saugeen Shores and Kincardine but now some rep teams were being included. Our girls now had South Bruce, Owen Sound and Lucknow as well as ...

But this time with a trip to Port Elgin for the Walkerton Capitals. The last meeting against Saugeen had gone in favour of Walkerton but Saugeen had definitely shown an improvement and Walkerton needed keep the pressure on.

Or that’s what it seemed like with a very slow start from the girls as they met Saugeen Shores Storm for the second meeting in Walkerton. The score stayed at zero until 2.00 minutes before the end of the first period with the first goal being scored by Briana. This was closely followed by a great shot on net by Emily which looked suspiciously as though it went over the line. This was to be ruled a no goal though and the score stayed at 1-0 at the end of the first. Into the second period and the girls picked up the pace a little. And it was a late evening mid week game for the girls in Kincardine. The last game against Kincardine showed an improvement against them and it was hoped that tonight could show a positive outcome. However this was not meant to be and the game ended with a 4-1 loss.
