But this time with a trip to Port Elgin for the Walkerton
Capitals. The last meeting against Saugeen had gone in favour of Walkerton but Saugeen
had definitely shown an improvement and Walkerton needed keep the pressure on.
The first period started well with Emily getting two goals almost in succession. This was closely followed by Briana taking a shot on net with the rebound giving Emily a hat trick, and all in the first period! There were lots of chances for the Walkerton team in the second period with Maddie having a rush and a one to one encounter with the Saugeen goalie. This was not to go her way however and the goalie was able to stop the puck. Moira also had a rush but was stopped by the Walkerton defense.
Third period was the penalty period with Maddie in the penalty box followed by Saugeen getting a penalty to give 4 on 4 play. This didn’t last too long though as Saugeen got another penalty just as Maddie got out to give Walkerton a 5 on 3 advantage. Saugeen were able to keep Walkerton at bay though and no goals for Walkerton. A few minutes later though Briana was able to get two goals in quick succession to bring the game to the final score of 5-0.
