So a lot has happened over the last month and I must apologize
for not keeping up with the write ups. I took a couple of games to take some
photos of the girls playing rather than writing notes about the games but these
unfortunately have not turned out as well as expected.
Following the last write up, the first group of scheduled
games came to an end and more teams were added to our group. Up until now the
girls were in the middle of the group between Saugeen Shores and Kincardine but
now some rep teams were being included. Our girls now had South Bruce, Owen
Sound and Lucknow as well as the original two teams.
The first game with this group was scheduled for Dec 14 against Owen Sound on home ice. This was a close game but the final result was a win for our girls with a score of 2-1 and it was good to see some much more aggressive play from our girls. This was followed the next week by a trip to Mildmay to play against South Bruce and despite the best efforts of our girls, they could not get the puck past their goalie and the game resulted in a 0-2 loss. The third of the three new teams, Lucknow met our girls in Jan and this team proved to be too much from our girls with the game result of a 1-5 loss. However maybe the Christmas vacation had a little influence on the girls play this time.
The following week brought about big changes in the team however. After several weeks of using a borrowed goalie, the team now had two goalies. Welcome back to Vicky and welcome to Tiffany. The first game with both goalies in place was against Saugeen Shores and it was a gentle start for both goalies as the team did a very good job of keeping the puck away from them as much as they could. The final result for this game being 5-1 to Walkerton.
