Second meeting with the Kinucks
It was the second meeting of the season against Kincardine
Kinucks. The first game against them had not been too successful with the
Capitals coming away with an 8-1 loss. The
sole goal for the Capitals in that game being scored by Brianna. With a few
more practices under their belt it was hoped for a better result this week.
Once again the team had assistance from Keely in net and this time also Shannon playing defense and this was much appreciated.
The girls started strong and managed to keep the score to 0-0 through the first period. Into the second period and the Capitals took the lead with a goal scored by Emily with assists to Trinity and Brianna. However they were not able to hold onto the lead for long and the Kinucks came back to two quick goals in succession to steal the lead. The Capitals fought a hard game and maintained a strong defence but the Kinucks managed to seal the deal with another goal in the third period to make the final score 3-1. The game resulted in a loss but the girls played a much stronger game and are starting to come together as a team. Keep it up girls.
