Prestige Boys Suffer a Loss in OT Against Mildmay
On Friday, February 8th, Walkerton traveled to Mildmay all geared up for their 7:30 face off.  It was a clean, fast paced game which ended up being a real nail-biter.  Walkerton got on the scoreboard first at 13:36 of the first frame as Nathaniel Illerbrunn passed the puck to Ryan Goetz who quickly potted one past the Mildmay goalie.  The game built with excitement because of the back and forth plays and well executed passing.

The Walkerton boys held their ground in the offensive and defensive zones, despite having two players absent.  Walkerton went into the third period with a 1-0 lead.  At 8:41 of the third frame, Mildmay continued to press hard and slipped one by Pletch, who played a phenomenal game. The match was tied 1-1. The arena was buzzing with cheers as the boys entered the overtime period. It was definitely anyone's game.  At one point, Jordan Lang won the draw, getting it to Nathaniel Illerbrunn, who went around the opposition's net, narrowly missing on the short side. Denver Turnbull stepped up with a chance as well. Opportunities to finish the game were felt by both teams. Mildmay maintained their strong force throughout the game and took the victory at 6:56 of the overtime period.  The Walkerton Prestige team should be very proud of the amazing team effort shown against Mildmay. Keep it up and your hard work will pay off!
