Prestige Boys Win Against Walkerton 3
It was a clean and well executed game up until the last few minutes of the game on Wednesday, February 20th. The Prestige boys came out on top 4-3 in a close, head to head game.
At 3:31 of the first frame, Jaden Dietz passed to Jordan Lang, who made a beautiful pass to Brenden Hinds, putting the Prestige team up 1-0 late in the first period. RKS responded quickly with a goal by Landon Moore at 2:24. A quick glove save by Jared Pletch kept it tied 1-1. Darren Rich and Noah Currie teamed up, but were kept off the scoreboard on their opportunity.
At 8:31 of the second period, Landon Moore potted his second goal of the night. This was the only scoring in the action packed second period.

The second period ended with Prestige down a goal and the boys in white (Prestige) coming on strong. Excellent clearing of the zone by Denver Turnbull and Tanner Stuempfle was felt during the penalty killing.
At 13:33 of the third period, Thomas Crummer worked hard against the boards to keep the puck in play around the red line. This resulted in Tanner Stuempfle letting a bullet shot away, hitting the mesh at the back of the net, tying it 2-2. Rich and Currie had another chance, but were denied by Markauskas, who had just returned from an injury. A stellar opportunity by Hinds on the short side barley missed the net.  RKS's Moore netted a hat trick as he muscled his way past the defense and beat Jared Pletch in between the pipes. A rush to the net by Crummer tied it for the Prestige boys when he scored at the 2:00 mark of the third.  Jordan Lang and Ryan Goetz picked up the assists. Jared Pletch's diving save came an an opportune time, keeping it 3-3. With the boys in white coming on strong, the battles against the boards become harder. Joel Pletch and Nathaniel Illerbrunn provided solid offence.  The final goal of the game came at 1:08. Ryan Goetz maneuvered past their defense and scored a gritty, unassisted goal, advancing the Prestige team 4-3 for the final. Congratulations on your excellent passing boys. We'll see you next when you hit the ice on Sunday at 6:30.
