Prestige's Six Game Winning Streak is Stopped
The Walkerton Prestige team traveled to Durham on Wed. January 23rd at eight o'clock to face defeat, ending their six game winning streak. It was another slow paced game, but the Walkerton boys got on the scoreboard first late in the first period. Tanner Stumpfle scored the unassisted goal as he rushed in the offensive zone.
In the absence of Denver Turnbull and Jaden Dietz on defense, the regular lines were juggled to make accommodations.

There were back and forth chances by both teams in the second period, however, it wasn't until the 5:01 mark of the second frame that Walkerton was able to pot another one as Joel Pletch passed to Brenden Hinds, netting the second of the evening. This put Walkerton up 2-0.  This success was short lived, as Durham responded minutes later making it 2-1 Walkerton.
The flood gates opened in the third period as Durham's team bounced back with three unanswered goals and hard hitting against the boards.  Walkerton netted another goal at 4:07 as Thomas Crummer passed to Noah Currie. Currie rushed into the offensive zone and slid it in by the goalie.  This made the score 4-3 Durham. Despite attempts, the Prestige team was shut out the remaining game and Durham scored a final goal making it 5-3 Durham.
The Prestige team will have to shake this loss off as they go up against Walkerton 1 tomorrow night. Good luck boys and have fun on the ice!
