Walkerton's Prestige Boys On a Five Game Winning Streak
On Saturday, January 12th, 2013, the Prestige Boys showed up in fine form to defeat the Shallow Lake team 7-0. This win maintains Prestige's five game winning steak. The scoring was started in the first period by Tanner Stumpfle and assisted by Noah Currie and Ryan Goetz.  Minutes later, Brenden Hinds would ignite the team as he netted an unassisted goal, allowing the Walkerton team to take a 2-0 lead.  Jayden Dietz put forth another strong showing in his role for the Walkerton boys.

The second period saw a barrage of scoring by the Walkerton team.  Jordan Lang took a pass from Stumpfle and banged one in at 7:46 of the second frame.  Seconds later, Brenden Hinds responded with his second of the game as he potted one from Goetz and Currie again.  At 6:35, Denver Turnbull pitched in a goal from Hinds and Goetz. Then, the goalie, Jared Pletch passed the puck up the ice to Darren Rich, who fed it off to Joel Pletch.  Pletch's goal was the last in the second period. This saw Walkerton take a 6-0 lead into the third period.  Prestige's strong defense shut down the opposition, despite Shallow Lake's chances.
Further chances by Walkerton's Crummer, Dietz and Illerbrunn in the third period, were denied.  The Walkerton team was limited to a single goal by Joel Pletch midway through the period.  Darren Rich and Denver Turnbull picked up the assists. The final score was 7-0.
Congratulations boys! We look forward to more offensive and defensive plays when you challenge the Hanover team on Saturday.  Can we keep the steak going? Come out and see at 4:30 at the P&H Center in Hanover.
