Prestige Boys Make a Comeback to Claim a Victory
On Sunday, December 23rd, at high noon, the Walkerton Community Center was the place to be as two Walkerton teams faced off against each other. It was team Crummer (Walkerton 2) vs team Holm (Walkerton 3) and what a game it was!

Two goals by the opposition's Stroeder and Moore at 6:25 and again at 2:46 in the first period allowed the Prestige boys to fall behind two goals in the first frame. There were lots of scoring opportunities, but the Prestige boys just couldn't capitalize on any of their offensive chances in the first period.
At the top of the second period, a bullet shot just inside the blue line by Denver Turnbull narrowed the lead
2-1.  Capturing assists were Thomas Crummer and Ryan Goetz.  This goal kick started the Walkerton Prestige boys in blue.  A close backhand shot by Crummer nearly tied the game midway through the second. The action heated up around Pletch's net and a momentary laps of clearing the zone resulted in the opposing Walkerton 3 team scoring, making it 3-1. An amazing chance by Jordan Lang and Ryan Goetz came close early in the second frame.  Moments later, there was another rush, as Joel Pletch streaked in with Nathaniel Illerbrunn, narrowly missing the net. The furious efforts of the Prestige boys was not to be extinguished. At 4:06 of the second frame, Jordan Lang scored as he was fed the puck from Denver Turnbull and Tanner Stumpfle.  Holm's team (Walkerton 3) ended the second period with a one goal lead and the Prestige boys coming on strong.
At 12:51 of the third period, Tanner Stumpfle passed the puck to Joel Pletch, who netting a goal and tied the game 3-3.  The Prestige team kept the pressure on and at 12:37 of the third, Jordan Lang had an unassisted goal, giving the team the lead for the first time in the game. Jared Pletch halted a close chance midway through the third by smothering the puck. Holm's Walkerton (3) team pulled the goalie, hoping to tie the game in the final minutes, but to no avail. Jayden Dietz's defensive skills helped maintain the lead. Crummer's boys (Walkerton 2)held their ground in the dying minutes of the game.  The final score was 4-3 for the Prestige Contracting boys. It was excellent to see the determination and hard work of the Prestige boys pay off.  It was a well matched game which entertained the crowd.
