First Playoff Win
This afternoon we traveled to Durham for a 3:30 game, I am sure most of our players and fans wanted to be back in Walkerton watching Game 7 of the Hawks/Patriots series but the show must go on! It was great to hear that the Hawks were up 5 to 0 after 2 periods, Congrats Hawks on your series win!!
This was our first game in 8 days as we awaiting the return of our goalie Ryan Fotheringham from his vacation in sunny Cuba, even though he returned to Walkerton this morning at 7am he was ready for today's game and made some very important and great saves. We opened the scoring late in the 1st period with goals from Tyson Hinds and Craig Reaman, assists going to Cameron Klein, Tate Elphick and Jackson Wells. Craig scored again late in the 2nd period assisted by Tyler Crummer to put us up by 3! West Grey did get one past Ryan half way through the third period but we shut down West Grey the rest of the way with some great checking and defensive play and managed two more goal late in the game by Craig and Tyson. Alex Kunkel, Lucas Fortney, Tate and Tyler played well and gave Ryan the support needed in front of the net. Clint and Emily Holliday, Eddie Mckee and the rest of the forwards did a great job of cycling the puck down deep and back checking to keep West Grey off their game. A BIG thank you to Jason Hinds and Tyler Goetz for running practice yesterday, whatever you taught the team it certainly worked today!
Our next game is Tuesday night in Walkerton at 8pm against Drayton. Hope to see you there!
