Perfect Weekend
Walkerton Collision Atom LL 1 played 2 games this weekend gainst West Grey 1 and Hanover 1, earning a win in each game!

On Saturday Afternoon we traveled to one of the coldest arenas in the area (Ayton) for a game against West Grey 1. We fell behind midway through the 1st period but responded with two goals to end the period, one by Craig Reaman assisted by Eddie Mckee and one by Cameron Klein assisted by Jackson Wells and Eddie. In the second period we managed two more goals, one by Eddie assisted by Cameron and then Cameron scored with Eddie picking up his 3rd assist of the game.  We played a very solid game the rest of the way with some great saves by Ryan Fotheringham to earn a 4 to 1 victory.

Very early on Sunday morning (8am) saw Hanover 1 come to Walkerton to do battle.  We had only played this team once this year and were beat 4 to 0, so we wanted to come out strong and gets lots of shots as Hanover has a very good goalie and he covers the net very well.  Craig opened the scoring in the first period, with Lucas Fortney getting the assist as he shot it from the point which almost went in.  Basically the rest of the first period and the second period turned into a defensive battle with both goalies making some great saves.  Late in the second period Cameron scored on a shot from just inside the blueline which was assisted by Tyson Hinds.  Tyson called this a kangaroo goal as the puck jumped a few times on its way to the net.  Hanover scored one goal ealry in the third period but Walkerton scored two goals in less than a minute to put us up for good.  Cameron scored one assited by Tyson and Tyler Crummer and Tyson scored assisted by Cameron and Eddie, Hanover did manage one more goal but Ryan closed the door after that.

Even though Alex Kunkel, Tate Elphick, Clint Holliday and Emily Holliday did not end up on the score sheet they played very well over the two games.

We have three more games left in the playoffs before we play in Mildmay to finish out the season, it is hard to believe the season is almost over!
