Walkerton X Walkerton = Tie
Walkerton Atom LL teams came head to head again today, but no one came out on top.
Walkerton Collision Atom LL, came out hard and fast and looking for the win. The other Walkerton team was just as determined to shut them out.
First period of play had our defence, consisting of Lucas Fortney, Tyler Crummer and Tate Elphick working hard, holding the line, and denying the other team of many shots on net. The forwards worked hard but couldn't beat the other Walkerton goalie, and the first period ended in a scoreless tie.
Second period the other Walkerton team came out hard, scoring their first of the game, despite heroic efforts from Ryan Fotheringham to keep it out. Our forwards, Craig Reaman, Eddie McKee, Cameron Klein, Clint Holliday, Emily Holliday, Alex Kunkel and Tyson Hinds worked hard to keep the play in the offensive end, but despite their many efforts, they couldn't sink the puck over the red line. Second period ended with Walkerton Collision a goal behind.
Third period was played just as hard, end to end, save after amazing save for Fotheringham. Finally with 33 seconds left on the clock, an empty net at our end, and a quick pass from Klein to Elphick to Hinds got the job done, and our boys skated home with the tie.
