Cornerstone and Hanover Hit a Brick Wall in Overtime
In a very intense early evening game that left the crowd breathless and with our hearts racing. Both of these teams, who are very evenly matched, came out to win this very important game. This game provided close calls, great team play from both squads, and many scoring chances that never came to fruition. Cornerstone's offense played the puck up, using the boards, and passing to the open man, but to no avail, we were stumped at the net each time. Hanover skated with sticks ablazing, but excellent goal tending from Calder Davidson stopped each and every shot that Hanover to shoot at him.
With an entire three periods, where both teams were left scoreless; we headed into overtime. With our Cornerstone boys tired, they found a new lease on the game knowing that we had 10 more minutes. Hanover played hard, and met our boys at the line each time. When Hanover gained control of the puck they were met with a TEAM that worked hard together and worked the puck out of our end. Yet at the end of the regulation over time, the score was still 0-0. Leaving both teams and a crowd very tired. Congratulations to both teams. On to the next game. Saturday against Listowel.
It is worth mentioning that the team that we saw tonight was the team that has played with a great deal of heart all season, they have really become an amazing team, one that plays well together and works hard together. It goes without saying that we are all proud of this team, coaches, staff, and parents alike. CORNERSTONE< YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!
