Cornerstone Wraps Up Another Win Against Mitchell
Cornerstone continued to press hard toward the brass ring.  In a late afternoon game, Mitchell traveled to Walkerton to face our Cornerstone team.  Cornerstone held back a bit in the first period to figure out how Mitchell was going to play out this game.  And true to form, Mitchell came out hard and fast as they have all season.  With Mitchell laying out the game quickly, they were able to sneak one past our goalie, Calder Davidson late in the first period.  Thus igniting a fire under Cornerstone to answer back, in a manner true to how our team has played all season.  With a lineup that consisted of Connor Johnson, Calvin Wilson and MacKenzie McTeer, the line made their way up the ice not allowing anyone to get in their way.  They were a line on a mission!
With a beautiful pass from Johnson to Wilson they saw the opportunity with an open McTeer, who was positioned to the left of the net, the pass was made and the shot cleanly shot past the Mitchell goalie.  Making it a one, one game at the end of the first period.

By the second period, Cornerstone controlled the pace of the game.  Again with the lineup of Wilson and McTeer, another rush was made to the Mitchell net.  This time shot was taken hard by MacKenzie McTeer and Calvin Wilson was there to bang in the rebound.  Cornerstone continue to play well together.  For the next three goals, the next Cornerstone lineup shone brightly.  Curtis Al gained control of the puck deep in the Walkerton end, with a well executed pass to Dorian Charette and over to Austin Kelly, Austin was able to connect with the puck and send it home to the back of the net.  Austin Kelly had a banner night, he entered into the first part of the third period with two more unassisted goals, giving him a well deserved hat trick in this game.  Mitchell rushed the puck into the Cornerstone end one more time, giving them their second goal of the game, ending their scoring opportunities for this game.  But Cornerstone wanted to make certain that we had this game in the bag; With one final rush to the net, and a mad scramble a shot was made from Sam Byers to Connor Johnson, a flurry of activity in front of the net to Calvin"the tank"Wilson, who sent the final blow in, giving Calvin his second of the night and the sixth for Cornerstone.  Cornerstone takes the win 6 to 2.
