Cornerstone's Season Ends In Style
Well folks, this is the last scheduled game in the playoff series.  Now all the games have not been submitted but nevertheless Cornerstone played their final playoff game with style.  If your going to go out, go out big and go out on top; and that is exactly what we did out on the icepad this morning.  Cornerstone played with heart and true vigor this morning.  And it all started in the first period.  Calvin Wilson saw the open opportunity and took it, he skated hard down the ice towards the Listowel goalie and let it fly, starting the Cornerstone goal-spree off.  Not less than a minute later, a beautiful pass from Austin Kelly at the blueline to MacKenzie McTeer, gave MacKenzie the open ice to skate into the Listowel end and score the second goal of the game by sending it high into the net.  The second period saw the Kelly- McTeer combination strike gold again by tapping in Cornerstone's third goal of the game.  Twenty seconds later, after scrambling for the puck; Calvin Wilson knocked the puck loose, passed it to Connor Johnson who sent number four sailing past their goalie.

Period three was Cornerstone's busiest of the game, these boys played as they have all season, with grit determination and passion.  If this was their final game they were going to win it big.  And they didn't disappoint themselves either.   Early into the third period MacKenzie McTeer saw another chance for a rush, and with Austin Kelly by his side, they rushed the net with the puck, MacKenzie shot the puck hard, it deflected off the goalies pads and Austin Kelly was right there to knock in the rebound.  Twenty seconds later, MacKenzie McTeer found his way through a traffic jam of Listowel players and emerged out and raced to the net, sending the puck in the air, hitting nothing but the back of the net.  This goal gave Cornerstone their sixth goal and MacKenzie his hat trick.  Austin Kelly also had a banner scoring game, he found his chance to head for the net all alone and he took it.  Resulting in goal number seven, the second for him this game.  With a flurry of activity and hard play, Listowel fought their way past the Cornerstone defence, and netted one of their own.  Cornerstone goalie, Calder Davidson has been a wall all season and has played games that have amazed the crowd, during the playoffs he has been challenged by each team and has met the challenge everytime, keeping Cornerstone's spirit alive.  Answering back quite loudly was a pass from Gordon McKee to Connor Johnson into the net.  And not more then 40 seconds later, with nineteen seconds left in the game, a quick pass from Calvin to Ty Arnold, Ty wound up, took the shot and sent our final goal home.  Leaving this game 9 to1 for Cornerstone.
