Cornerstone Pulls Off Another Win
With two games left in the regular season, Cornerstone faced the top seated team in the Novice division.  Durham played the whole game with confidence and talent, but confidence and talent were not enough to take away a win in this game.  Cornerstone was hard pressed today to find goals but they managed to find three opportunities late in the second and third periods.

The first period found our forwards struggling to find the open area to the net, the Durham defence mounted a formable wall against us.  But Durham soon found out that the Cornerstone defence led by Curtis Al and MacKenzie McTeer was just as strong as the defence against us.  As the first period drew to a close it also left the score at a draw of zero.
The second period saw both teams come on heavy to the nets but it was a beautiful rebound from Noah Currie that started the scoring off for the game.  The shot was taken by Austin Kelly and it rebounded to Noah, who slapped one away for his second goal of the season.  Although Cornerstone's forwards drove to the net on a number of occasions during the second period, it wasn't until the third period where the action really began to heat up.
With the third period well under way, forward Austin Kelly made his way through the mirage of Durham men and drove home Cornerstones second goal of the game.  Durham was not ready to call it quits though, they quickly answered back with a goal of their own, with Cornerstone's goalie Calder Davidson, being injured out of the play.  Calder being the great goalie he is, shook it off and finished out the game in style; stopping all other shots that made his way to his net.
To end off one of the most exciting games of Cornerstone's season one last drive to the net by Calvin Wilson to an open Gordon McKee; the puck was then passed to Connor Johnson who sent the third and final goal home.
Two teams equally matched gave both teams the game of the season, Congratulations Cornerstone!!!
