A Hat Trick For Cornerstone!!!
Cornerstone made it a banner weekend. A win of 11 to 4. Our boys gave us our hat trick in wins.
In a late afternoon game against Mildmay, Cornerstone played consistent and watched their positions carefully. Although there were a couple of times where Cornerstone was caught too far in the opposition's end, our scorers were red hot yet again. Cornerstone had offense driving to the net all game and a defense that would not break the lines, with a combination like this, it made it very difficult for the Mildmay team to find too many scoring chances.
The game continues to be played by all our Cornerstone players, all of which play a contributing factor in how each game is played. Today's game was all about our quick offense and our hard pressing defense. Calvin Wilson continues to gain momentum in his playing abilities by shooting home 5 of the 11 goals had by Cornerstone. Connor Johnson impressed the crowd with his hat trick and Austin Kelly continues to astound everyone with his ability to out maneuver the opposition and score, twice in this game. Rounding out the scoring with a beautiful shot was Dorian Charette in the second period.
Defensively, our boys held the line strong. Curtis Al and MacKenzie McTeer, along with Ty Arnold and Dorian Charette continue to build the wall high and strong, making it difficult to get any chances on goal.
More importantly we want to congratulate Sam Byers for working so hard, he almost had a great goal and has continuously held his position at the net for just the right time to score his first goal.
Continue to work hard Cornerstone, it is paying off!!!
