Whata Game For Cornerstone!!!
Today Cornerstone met, top ranked Listowel in a late afternoon game here in Walkerton, and both teams came prepared for a hard playing game.  Cornerstone's first line on the ice set the pace for the rest of the game.  With less then 50 seconds played in the first period a quick pass from Calvin Wilson to Connor Johnson in front of the net, Connor sent our first goal home.  The second line followed suit, less then a minute later a shot was snapped towards the Listowel net by Austin Kelly but failed to go in but a quick rebound by MacKenzie McTeer paid off with our second goal of the period.  By the end of the first period, with the help of some well conceived passes by Sam Byers, Noah Currie and MacKenzie McTeer, Austin Kelly was able to sink in two more goals.  Leaving Cornerstone with a 4 to 0 lead heading into the second period.

Throughout the game, Listowel made Cornerstone well aware that they were here to win, they played hard and with great organization.  And because of their hard work and a great break away Listowel was able to get their only goal of the game in, early in the second period.  Our Cornerstone boys quickly answered back with a pass from Ty Arnold to Austin Kelly, Austin was able to capitalize on yet another scoring opportunity.  The second period was a busy one for Cornerstone, with a well deserved break away Calvin Wilson headed to the net alone and sent another goal in.  Calvin wasn't done yet, just moments after, and a pass from Gordon McKee to Calvin, a well executed pass to Connor Johnson sent our seventh goal in.  Fifteen seconds later MacKenzie McTeer broke out and headed for the net alone, where he met with his unassisted goal, second of the game.
The third period saw a well deserved goal from forward Noah Currie, his first this year with Cornerstone.  Noah is always in the right place at the right time to get assists but tonight he was passed to by MacKenzie McTeer and he sent his first goal home.  Listowel's goalie was inundated by Cornerstone tonight but he still continued to play strong.  To finish off our game a quick snap from MacKenzie to Austin sent our final goal into the net.  The end score.....10 to 1!!
Congratulations to our kids who may have firsts in this game, Noah Currie, Ty Arnold and Sam Byers!!!!
