On Saturday March 8th, 2008 the Bantam PWU boys were in action against Durham. The game started slow with speed picking up late in the first when Logan Kritz netted one. The assist were given to Joe Moran and Braden O’Hagan. The second period started like the first with no scoring till late in the period when Durham scored to tie it up. Walkerton PWU Bantam Boys took the win on Wednesday Feb 20th. They beat Mount Forest 2 to 1 in a very exciting and close game. First period there was great passing and changes for both teams but the goalies were ready. Walkerton went on the attack and this made Mount Forest get a penalty. But there was no goal scored. Second period both teams are looking to score the first goal of the game. The teams start to use their body and Walkerton gets 2 penalties and Mount Forest 1 but neither team scores. Sunday February 3rd saw the Walkerton PWU Bantam Boys play their last regular season game against Shallow Lake in Walkerton. The game started fast with Steve Lang netting one early in the game with the assist given to Nic Schmidt for the goal. Just over a minute later Daniel Ritter scored with a nice pass from Logan Kritz. With only 30 seconds left in the first Shallow Lake tied up the game. On February 2nd the Walkerton PWU Bantam Boys faced off against Wiarton in Walkerton. The boys came out skating hard but in the first minute of play Wiarton scored to put them up 1-0. Shortly after Derek Merchant netted their first goal with assists to Nic Schmidt and Braden O’Hagan. With less than a minute left in the first Schmidt scored to put the home team up 2-1. Assists were from Scott Markauskas and Kyle Scheuerman. But once again Wiarton came back and tied it at 2-2. With a close game going into the 2nd period, the PWU boys came out looking to pull ahead. Walkerton faced off against Shallow Lake on Sat Jan 26th in Shallow Lake. The first goal was a nice end to end rush scored by Keagan Engel. Logan Kritz had two nice goals in the game with singles going to Scott Markauskas, Steve Lang, Joe Moran and Justus Hickey netting beautiful goals to put the team up 7-0. Chris Flett got the shut-out making save after save. Assists go to Derek Al (3), Derek Merchant, Scott, Logan (2) and Braden O’Hagan. Great team work was displayed by everyone during the game.
