Final regular season game for PWU Bantam Boys

Sunday February 3rd saw the Walkerton PWU Bantam Boys play their last regular season game against Shallow Lake in Walkerton. The game started fast with Steve Lang netting one early in the game with the assist given to Nic Schmidt for the goal. Just over a minute later Daniel Ritter scored with a nice pass from Logan Kritz. With only 30 seconds left in the first Shallow Lake tied up the game. With just seconds left in the first Derek Al put the puck in the back of the net with some nice crisp passes from Schmidt and Braden O‘Hagan. Near the end of the first period the PWU boys would also be short a player due to an injury. Keagan Engel was skating back to stop a break away when he dove to knock the puck away and crashed into the boards. After a trip to the hospital he found out he had 2 broken fingers and will now be out of action for the next several weeks. Half way through the second the scoring picked up with Kritz netting a goal. As the fast paste game continued Lang recorded his second of the game with an assist given to Derek Merchant. Only 7 seconds later Merchant netted one of his own. With 3 minutes left in the second Kritz also scored his second of the game with he assist going to Schmidt. Early in the third Schmidt netted one to “seal the deal”, assists were given to Al and Kritz. Flett again played a very strong game in net with great team work by the entire team. After it was all over PWU Walkerton Bantam Boys would take the win with a 8-3 score.

Hope to see you at our play off games.
