Game 7 vs. Hanover Falcons #1
Walkerton would play host to the Hanover Falcons #1 team on Sunday, November 5, 2017 in a battle of two undefeated teams.  The game would be a back and forth contest with each team doing its best to keep its wining streak intact

The first period would see Hanover take control in the Walkerton zone and pepper the Walkerton goalie with shot after shot.  Hanover would open the scoring just before the half way point of the period when a streaking Falcons player found the corner of the net behind goalie, Ryan Hinsperger.  Walkerton would respond by turning up the heat on the Hanover net but were unable to get the equalizer as the period concluded.

The second period started with Walkerton again continuing to pressure the Hanover net.  The Capital forwards would hit two goal posts and keep the Hanover net-minder busy making save after save.  The Falcons would also make a couple of rushes into the Walkerton zone but the Walkerton defense and Ryan were able to minimize all scoring opportunities.  The Capitals would score with 3:30 seconds remaining in the period when Cobi Johnson’s shot found the back of the net, assisting was Kyle Romphf.  The second period would wrap up with the teams knotted in a 1-1 tie.

The third period and the two teams would continue to battle.  Walkerton would take a few penalties throughout the period but with solid back checking and defensive play they were able to kill off the Hanover man advantage.  Neither team would score in the final 15 minutes and the game would end in the 1-1 tie.

The goaltending was exceptional throughout the game, the defense played well in front of its own net and on the point in the offensive zone.  The forwards drove to the front of the net always looking for rebounds.  The passing while not as sharp as it has been the past games the boys never once gave up.  Their determination throughout the game was fantastic.  The two teams will be back at it on Saturday evening as they face off again in Hanover.
