Game 4 vs. Owen Sound Attack #1
The Walkerton Capitals were back in Owen Sound on Wednesday, October 15, 2017.  This time they would face off against the Owen Sound Jr. Attack #1 team at the Bayshore on its larger ice surface.

Walkerton would fall behind early as the Attack would jump out to a 2-0 lead just over a minute and a half into the game.  The Capitals, however, would score just before the 3 minute mark when Cayleb Peitz beat the Owen Sound goalie after taking a pass from Liam Osbourne.  Walkerton would tie the game just over a minute later when Kyle Romphf scored after going high blocker side while on a break away.  The scoring would continue when Tyler Wallace scored just before the half way point of the period after his wrist shot found the back of the net, assists credited to Ryan Graul and Connor Farrell.  Walkerton would then score with 4:11 remaining when Jack Walter slid the puck under the Attack goalie.  Cayleb Peitz was awarded the assist.  The Capitals would continue to pressure in the Owen Sound end and would be rewarded when Jack Walter deflected a hard pass off the post and into the net, assists credited to Carson Filsinger and Matthew McNaughton.  The final goal of the period would come from Cobi Johnson after he and Kyle Romphf worked a near perfect give and go before the shot found the top of the net.  Walkerton lead 6-2 after the first period.

The second period would start with each team making valiant attempts on the opponents net.  Walkerton would score 4 minutes into the frame after Kyle Romphf tucked the puck behind the goalie after a break away.  Cobi Johnson would score less than a minute later after taking a pass from Colby Schmidt.  Defenseman Scott McTeer would intercept a pass from an Attack player and then come down the wing and unleash a high wrist shot that caught the corner of the net.  As the period was coming to a conclusion Carson Filsinger finished off a fine passing play that found the back of the net.   Assisting were Cayleb Peitz and Jack Walter.  Walkerton had increased its lead to 10-1 after two periods of play.

The third period and again the Capitals would pressure the Owen Sound net.  Cayleb Peitz would score four and half minutes into the period after taking a pass from Jack Walter.  Cayleb would then score three minutes later to complete the hat trick.  Owen Sound would score but Walkerton would immediately skate down the ice and Cobi Johnson and Kyle Romphf would again team up before Cobi would record his hat trick.  Tyler Wallace would score with 1:36 remaining, assisted by Ryan Graul and Connor Farrell.  The scoring would wrap up with Carson Filsinger his second of the night after redirecting a pass from Xander Thornton with 15 seconds remaining in the game.

Once again the Capitals played a very strong game, they passed the puck well and were rewarded with goals.  The control of puck possession while in the Owen Sound zone was outstanding.  The Walkerton team has shown strong skills early in the season and will continue to work on them as more games are played.
