The ninth-place Walkerton Capitals peewee LL boys
lost their second game in a row Tuesday, falling 3-2 in a close match to the
visiting Saugeen Shores Storm #1.
The Storm, who sit fifth in the 15-team league, scored first with three minutes left in the opening period. The 1-0 lead held through the second and into the third when Brayden Grife scored unassisted at 10:58 to tie the game.
With 2:34 remaining, Saugeen Shores scored a second goal to take a 2-1 lead. They added an empty netter a minute later to go up 3-1, but Walkerton continued to skate hard and got one back with 15 seconds left. Justin Bell scored from Tyler Wallace and Cole Cassidy for the 3-2 final.
The Capitals have two regular season games remaining, Feb. 4 against the Shallow Lake Lakers and Feb. 5 against the Kincardine Kinucks #2.
