Falcons defeat Capitals 5-2
The
Walkerton Capitals peewee LL boys team lost a 5-2 decision to the Hanover
Falcons #1 in regular season action Jan. 14.
Hanover scored three times in the first period and added another goal early in the second for a 4-0 advantage.
Walkerton’s Brayden Grife nixed the shutout for the Falcons though midway through the period, assisted by Luke Schmidt. Justin Bell narrowed the gap to 4-2 at the 11:00 mark on a pass from Logan Morrison. With 2:30 left in the second, Hanover scored again to extending the lead to 5-2.
The Capitals played a strong third period and had numerous shots on net but neither team added to the score.
Walkerton (5-7-1) plays at home Saturday, Jan. 21 when they host the Bruce Peninsula Northstars (0-13-0) at 9 a.m. The Capitals return to Hanover Sunday, Jan. 22 for a 6 p.m. start against the Falcons #2 (12-1-1).
