Strong outing for Rowe
The Walkerton Royal Canadian Legion Branch 102 peewees resumed regular season action Jan. 6 in Durham, almost a month after their last match-up. The rest paid off for the Capitals as they skated away with a 2-1 win over the West Grey Warriors.

The visitors scored both markers in the opening period. Justin Bell netted the first goal, assisted by Liam Osborne and Kyle Romphf, while Tayt Weber earned the second, assisted by Dylan Reay and Bell.

West Grey trailed 2-0 until early in the third when the home team rallied and got one back. Walkerton held onto the lead with some good scoring chances of their own in the final frame. Lucas Rowe played an excellent game in net to preserve the win.

Walkerton plays another away game Saturday, Jan. 14 when they visit the Hanover Falcons #1 team. Of the 15 local league teams in the north division of the WOAA, the Falcons #1 sit in third place (10-2-2) while the Capitals are in ninth (5-6-1).
