Six points for Dautey in Mount Forest tourney
Kobe Dautey racked up six points for the Walkerton Capitals Legion Branch 102 peewee boys at a tournament in Mount Forest over the weekend.

The local peewees posted a 1-1 record at the tournament, beating the Alliston TNT Tornadoes 6-5 before falling to the Shelburne Wolves 4-3 in overtime.

TNT opened the scoring in the Capitals' first game but Walkerton had a 4-2 lead after two periods. The Tornadoes skated well in the third, netting three goals, but Dautey's fourth goal of the game with 33 seconds remaining sealed the win for Walkerton. Tayt Weber and Brayden Grife also scored for the Capitals, with assists going to Justin Bell (3), Grife (3), Kyle Romphf and Kody Brown. Dautey was named player of the game while Lucas Rowe earned the win in net.

The peewees' second game of the day was another close contest. Grife put Walkerton on the board first towards the end of the opening period, with helpers by Bell and Dautey, but back-to-back goals by Shelburne midway through the second gave the Wolves a 2-1 advantage. Dautey evened it up at 2-2 before the end of the frame, assisted by Alex Brandt, and Cobi Johnson scored the go-ahead goal two minutes later on a pass from Logan Morrison and Romphf. Walkerton's 3-2 lead was protected with solid defence by Kody Brown and Xander Thornton.

Both teams skated hard in the third. Shelburne scored with just over two minutes remaining to tie the game at 3-3, and they earned the game-winner one minute into overtime to take the 4-3 win and advance in the tournament.
Johnson was named player of the game for Walkerton.

In regular season action at home on Sunday, the Capitals lost their third game in a row, falling 6-2 to the AEMHA Ice Dogs. Both Walkerton goals came in the second period, earned by Thornton and Dautey. Assists went to Grife and Dylan Reay. On defence Cole Cassidy,
Luke Schmidt and Weber had strong games for the Capitals, with good scoring chances from Tyler Wallace, Liam Osborne, Johnson and Morrison.
