Prestige PeeWee L.L. Drop First Two Games of the Playoffs
On Saturday February 11th, the Prestige PeeWee L.L. team travelled to Palmerston to play Minto in the first game of playoff Round Robin.

Minto showed up ready to play and jumped into a quick two goal lead. Christian Kieffer scored unassisted in the second period, but Minto scored again to pad their lead. Not to be outdone, Cody Jones got the puck to Jordan Bester, who passed to Chase Walker-Hauck. Chase made a nice dangle at the blueline, drove to the net and fired a shot shortside for Walkerton’s second goal. This was followed by an Austin Kelly unassisted goal, to round out the second period.
Minto scored early in the third, and Walkerton responded when Christian Kieffer won a faceoff to Noah Currie, who slipped a backhander inside the far post. Minto responded twice in the same minute and their small but enthusiastic crowd was cheering up a storm.
Walkerton scored late in the game with the goalie pulled, as Brett Wagner fed Austin Kelly who potted his second of the game. Minto added an empty netter in the dying seconds of the game.  Minto 7, Walkerton 5.
The following morning, Prestige hosted Durham. This game was a 0-0 tie. The teams went to OT and Durham scored 3 minutes in, off a faceoff and point shot. Durham 1, Walkerton 0.
In both of these games, there was much to cheer about, but special notice goes to Cody Jones for 2 strong games and lots of hustle and good decision making. The bench staff and fellow players complimented him after each game for a job well done.
