First loss for Prestige
Constant back and forth action on the ice Sunday morning, Oct. 30 meant fans were on the edge of their seats from the frist drop of the puck in a game between Walkerton Prestige Pee Wee LL team and Durham. Despite a hard team effort, and some nice saves by Walkerton goalie Calder Davidson, the home team lost its first game of the season 5-3.

Durham opened the scoring early in the first period and Walkerton responded with a goal from Jordan Beste to close the period in a 1-1 tie. The lone assist on the Bester goal went to Calvin Wilson.
Mid-way through the second, with his dad making the most brutal of line changes, Durham was sprung on a break away from deep in their own end. Davidson bailed out his dad and his team by stopping the shot.
Early in the second period, Durham managed to increase its lead by scoring first. Walkerton tied the game again when Wilson passed to Austin Kelly who put it past the Durham goalie with 3:10 left in the second. Just over a minute later, Bester, assisted by Christian Kieffer and Jayden Louther, put Walkerton ahead 3-2 to end the second.
Walkerton had three players in the penalty box early in the third period, allowing Durham to put another one on the scoreboard. The home team was able to keep pressure on the Durham goalie with two break aways and repeated shots at net, including one which bounced off the post, but the goalie wasn’t allowing anything in.
Durham eventually scored two more in the third, one on an empty net, to claim the win.
Walkerton will be on the ice again next Sunday, Nov. 6, when they, allow with fellow LL team Weber's Electric, will be hosting the annual Pee Wee LL tournament.
