John Ernewein Juveniles Take 2 – 0 Series Lead
With a late 9:20 pm puck drop on Friday night the guys wasted no time
asserting their game plan and catching Elmvale a little flat footed. Walkerton jumped out to a 2 – 0 lead in the first off the sticks of Kyle Parks and Kurt Petrik with helpers going to Steve Thompson and Andrew Dentinger. In the second period, Walkerton continued to press and got the all important third goal by Nathan O’Hagan from Petrik and Dentinger and skated into the flood with a 3 – 0 lead. In the third, Walkerton stayed disciplined and continued their attack as Elmvale took numerous penalties and allowed the juvies to bury four more before skating off with a 7 – 0 win. Goal scorers in the third were Dentinger, Jake Barclay, Andrew Walsh and Sam Eckert. Helpers went to Adam Dales, Barclay, Trevor Robinson and Dentinger. Chris Flett was solid in goal and earned the shutout. With Elmvale winning the flip the team will head back up to their barn on Friday 3rd for another 9:20 pm puck drop before returning to Walkerton for game 4 on Saturday Feb. 11th. Go Capitals Go!
