Juvies Split Weekend Games in Mooretown
The John Ernewein Limited Juvenile Capitals traveled to Mooretown on the March 24th, 25th weekend for games 3 and 4 of the OMHA Juvenile BB finals.

The guys were not satisfied with their performance in Saturday's game and, as a team, vowed to be better and get the victory on Sunday and get the weekend split. Sunday’s game saw the Capitals come out flying and bulge the twine on the first shift of the game as Andrew Dentinger buried a wrist shot unassisted. This key first goal only increased the energy level of the guys as they poured it on and buried four more and skated into the flood with the commanding 5 - 0 lead. Goal scorers were, Sean Costie, Trevor Robinson, Kurt Petrik, Dentinger and Eric Elliott. Helpers were as follows, Steve Thompson, Scott Fidler (2) Costie, Mike Gregg and Nathan O'Hagan. The team welcomed back d-man Adam Dales from his one game suspension as the defence squad of, Dales, Thompson, Gregg, Andrew Walsh, Derrick Tambling and Mac Cassidy, all played a strong game. In the third the guys came out a little too conservative and Mooretown came out hard not wanting to be embarrassed in front of their hometown fans and that combined with less than stellar officiating allowed multiple power plays in Mooretown’s favour and three Mooretown goals. With the score 5-3 the Caps got another marker to relieve some pressure and force Mooretown to pull their goaltender. The Storm managed another goal before the Caps shut them down and finished the game with a well deserved 6-4 victory. This puts the series at five points to three for the Walkerton boys. The victory did come at a significant cost as Costie, who had been playing his best hockey of the season, broke his upper right arm as he fell awkwardly into the boards near the end of the first period. The team wishes him well in his recovery and has just one more item of motivation for the upcoming game 5. The Capitals host game 5 at the Walkerton Community Centre on Saturday, March 31 at 3:30 pm. Come on down, show your support and cheer the boys on to victory! Check the Walkerton Minor Hockey website for any updates or further information. Go Capitals Go!
