Wightman Atom play well Against Durham, Saturday December 27th
Our girls came out strong, and kept playing hard to win 2-1 in a great game!
Our Wightman Atom girls came out to play with Durham. We were missing our goalie, but goaltender Cassidy B was nice enough to step in and help us out for this noon hour game.
Despite coming out strong, our girls were unable to slide the puck past the Durham goalie, even though they kept the play in Durham's end, and continued to hammer the goalie. It was late in the second period when Courtney B, #1, was finally able to get the best of the Durham goalie, with an unassisted goal, her first of the season, tying the game!
The teams continued to play neck to neck, with many chances on both sides. Finally, late in the third, Sophie B, #4, and Brooklyn S, #17, fed the puck to Ally B, #2, and she beat the Durham goalie, winning the game 2-1!
Great game Wightman Atom Girls! Every girl on the team had a great game!! Come see our Wightman Girls play again next Saturday, January 3, in Mount Forest at 12:30. They are in the Reeves Cup, where the girls will participate in hardest shot, most accurate shot, and fasted skater competition!
