Wightman Atom Fight Hard in Game 2 of Year End Tournament
Our girls were ready to play when they met up with Markdale in Belmore.
Our Wightman Atom Girls faced off with Markdale for the second game of the Year End Tournament. They worked hard, and played as the great team they are, leaving the score tied at 0-0 for the first 2 periods.
Seconds into the third period, Markdale deked past our girls and beat Pippi. Our Atoms kept on them, pounding on the Markdale goalie, but just could not seem to get one past her. Our girls did their best to beat the goalie, but it was not our day. The game ended in a 1-0 score, and Wightman is off to the Consolation Game, playing for the Bronze Medal.
Great game ladies, excellent digging and fight with our forwards, and great defense, keeping that puck out of our end. As always, a stellar performance by Charlene PIPPI S between the pipes!
