Game 17 vs. Bruce Peninsula Northstars Red
Back to the confines of their home arena the Walkerton Capitals would play host to the visiting Bruce Peninsula Northstars Red team on January 26, 2020.  The boys were looking to bounce back after its recent mini losing streak.

Early in the first period the two teams would be flying up and down the ice and testing the goalies with some outstanding scoring opportunities.  The Capitals would open the scoring with 6:07 remaining when Jacob Girdler fired a wrist shot stick side assisted by Jack Walter and Connor McIntosh.  The two teams would continue to press in the opponents zone but after the first period completed Walkerton would hold a 1-0 lead.

The second period with more great action.  The two goalies were again stellar in the nets.  With just over 2 minutes remaining in the period Tyler Wallace would jump on a loose puck during a goalmouth scramble and tucked the puck into the open corner while on the power play, assisting on the goal was Austin Cormack.  Walkerton would then score again with 0.35 seconds remaining when Cayleb Peitz fired a wrist shot into the back of the net assisted by Tyler Wallace and Connor Farrell.  Walkerton would hold a 3-0 lead after two periods in the books.

The third period and once again it would be the goaltenders who put on a show between the pipes.  Save after save the goaltenders would be keeping the game close but with just over 4 minutes remaining Ryan Graul would lift a shot over the Northstars goalie and into the top of the net, after Cayleb Peitz slid the puck into the slot area.  The Capitals would skate away with a 4-0 victory.  The two teams will finish out Walkerton's regular season by playing each other once again but this time in Lions Head.

The boys were passing the puck with accuracy throughout this game, working hard in the corners and going to the net after loose pucks.  Probably one of the best all round game the boys have played in some time, the defence were blocking shots while clearing the puck to limit second chances.  The forwards were chasing down pucks and cycling throughout the game.  Ryan Hinsperger would record his second shut out of the season with some outstanding saves.
