Game 12 vs. Shallow Lake Lakers
On December 19, 2019 the Walkerton Capitals would travel to Shallow Lake to play the Lakers.  The game would feature some outstanding play from both teams and end to end action.

During the first period the Capitals would come out quickly and pressure the Lakers zone.  Just over 2:30 minutes into the game Walkerton's Joshua Flood would open the scoring assisted by Kody Brown.  With just under 4 minutes remaining in the period Joshua would score his second of the game when his low shot beat the goalie after taking a pass from Cayleb Peitz from behind the net.  Walkerton would lead 2-0 after the first period.

The second period would see the Lakers turn up the pressure in the Walkerton end.  Shallow Lake would score with 5:19 remaining and then score again with 14 seconds remaining.  The score was tied 2-2 after two periods of play completed.

The Lakers would take the lead earlier in the third period while on the power play.  The Capitals would continue to press and would tie the game with just under 8 minutes remaining when Xander Thornton fired a shot from just inside the blue line that found the back of the net, assisting on the goal were Jacob Girdler and Cayleb Peitz.  Again the two teams would continue to test the others goalie but both netminders would make several key saves.  Walkerton would score on a power play with 1:46 remaining in the period when Tyler Wallace completed a fine passing play with a wrist shot over the glove hand of the Lakers goalie, assisted by Austin Cormack and Cayleb Peitz.

The Capitals would once again need a strong third period and some late heroics to pull out another win.  Solid goaltending, a strong defensive game and a forward crew that moved the puck well throughout.
