Game 8 vs. West Grey Warriors
The Walkerton Capitals would play host to the visiting West Grey Warriors on Sunday, November 17, 2019.  The game would be rougher than most games played so far this season but the Capitals would play a strong team game.

The Capitals would attack the Warriors zone from the opening face-off and control most of the puck possession throughout the first period.  It would be the Warriors, however, who would open the scoring with 1:10 remaining in the period.  Walkerton would, however, respond when Austin Cormack found the back of the net after taking a pass from Jack Walter with 20 seconds remaining.  On the ensuing face-off the Capitals would score just 8 seconds later with a tick tack toe passing play that found Cayleb Peitz score assisted by Ryan Graul and Joshua Flood. Walkerton would take  2-1 lead into the second period.

The second period would see the Walkerton Capitals again come out quickly and be rewarded early.  Tyler Wallace would take a cross ice pass from Jack Walter and fire a hard snap shot just under the cross bar 45 seconds into the period.  Walkerton would go on to increase its lead on the power play when Ryan Graul tucked the puck under the Warriors net-minder, assisting on the goal were Joshua Flood and Matthew McNaughton.  The Capitals would hold a 4-1 lead after the completion of two periods.

The third period and the Capitals again would control much of the play in the Warrior zone.  Walkerton's Austin Cormack would score his second of the game when his hard wrist shot beat the glove hand of the West Grey goalie, assists were awarded to Jacob Girdler with just under 11 minutes remaining.  Just 9 seconds later off the face-off Ryan Graul would score his second of the game after burying a tape to tape pass from Jacob Girdler.  The Warriors would score with 9:30 remaining in the period and while both sides would press there would be no further scoring.  Walkerton would win the game by a final score of 6-2.

Another strong game from the Capitals skater and their unbeaten streak now extends to 5 games.  The boys played hard in the corners and along the boards and moved the puck with precision and speed.  At the times the boys were a little over zealous in coming to the defence of their teammates and would find themselves sitting in the penalty box but overall a well played team effort.
