Last game of the playoffs is tonight in Walkerton
The Walkerton Capitals bantam LL boys remain in third place after four more games in the Maroon North loop of the WOAA playoffs.

The boys lost two in a row before winning the next two, leaving them with a 4-4-1 record. With one game remaining on the schedule, Walkerton can’t catch the first place Saugeen Shores team, which is posting a perfect 8-0 record.

After suffering a 6-0 loss in Southampton to the Saugeen Shores Storm on March 2, and a 3-0 loss in Kincardine to the Kinucks #1 on March 3, Walkerton rallied and earned a 3-1 win against the Kinucks #2 on March 4. Cayleb Peitz, Cobi Johnson and Aragon Karn scored for Walkerton, assisted by Xander Thornton, Liam Osborne, Peitz and Scott McTeer.

Peitz and Kyle Romphf then netted two goals apiece when the Capitals defeated the Kinucks #2 4-0 in Walkerton on March 5. Tyler Wallace, Jacob Girdler, Johnson, Peitz, Tayt Weber and goalie Ryan Hinsperger picked up the assists.

The Capitals play host to the Shallow Lake Crushers today, with their final game of the playoffs beginning at 8:45 p.m. in Walkerton. Shallow Lake has the second spot in the playoff loop with a 5-1-1 record; the Crushers will be looking for a win as they chase Saugeen Shores for first place.
