Hinsperger earns the win in net
The Walkerton Capitals bantam LL boys snapped a three game losing streak by taking a 3-2 win at home Nov. 13 against the Owen Sound Junior Attack #1. Ryan Hinsperger earned the win in net for Walkerton.
The Capitals, sponsored by the Walkerton-Hanover Vet Clinic, scored one goal in each period while Owen Sound netted a pair of markers in the second.
Walkerton's goals came from Ryan Graul, Jacob Girdler and Kyle Rompf, with assists by Luke Schmidt (2), Girdler and Cobi Johnson. The home team recorded 10 penalty minutes while Owen Sound had 12.
Walkerton was unable to capitalize on a two-man advantage in the second period, and the teams were tied at 2-2 going into the third. An end-to-end rush by Johnson, followed by a pass out front to Rompf, gave the Capitals the 3-2 win.
The boys are in action again on Sunday when they travel to Ayton to take on the West Grey Warriors at 4 p.m.
