Playoff Game 5 vs. Owen Sound Red
The Walkerton Capitals would travel to Owen Sound to play Owen Sound Red on February 24, 2019.  The second game in as many days, Walkerton was hoping to get back on a winning note.

Walkerton’s goaltender, Seth Young, would play the entire game as Caden was out as he was under the weather.  Seth would be called upon early in the period to make several key saves.  Owen Sound would open the scoring with 2:36 remaining in the first period.  The Capitals would then tie the game in the dying seconds when Ben Eddyvean would jump on a loose puck and fire it into the open corner of the net with 0.04 seconds remaining on the clock, Jack Walter would be credited with the assist. The first period completed the two teams would be knotted at 1-1.

During the second period Walkerton would go ahead when Jack Walter buried a low shot to the corner of the net after taking a pass from Connor Farrell. Two minutes later on the power play some strong work in the Owen Sound zone would see Owen Young send a pass back to the point where Callum Depuis would fire on net and beat the goaltender through the legs.  The lead would increase again with just over 7 minutes remaining when Kyle Graul fired a wrist shot into the top corner after taking a pass from Colby Schmidt.  Owen Sound would score late in the period to cut into the lead but as the period ended Walkerton would hold a 4-2 lead.

The third period again Owen Sound would score early in the period to cut into Walkerton's lead once again.  On the ensuing face off Kyle Graul would go in on the Owen Sound net and deke the goalie to slip the puck into the open net.  Just under a minute later Kyle would complete his hat trick with his third goal of the game.  The scoring would continue when Colby Schmidt found the back of the net after taking a centering pass from Cody McIntyre and Matthew McNaughton.  Walkerton would add another goal when Jack Walter scored his second of the game.  The scoring would wrap up with just over a minute remaining in the game when Mason Lina would finish off a great three way passing play with a shot that would go stick side on the Owen Sound net-minder, assisting on the goal were Logan Bradley and Owen Young.

The Capitals would need a strong bounce back game and that is exactly what they got.  The forwards moved the puck well and were strong on the puck in the corners.  The defensive core would block several attempts preventing the puck from reaching the net and were equally effective at clearing the puck from its own zone.
