Game 8 vs. Arran-Elderslie Ice Dogs
The Capitals would travel to Paisley on November 24, 2018 to play the Arran-Elderslie Ice Dogs.  The game would be a back and forth tilt that would feature some great fore-checking and outstanding goal tending and fine play throughout.

The first period would see each team skate hard and pressure the opposition net with shot after shot. Walkerton would open the scoring with 3:01 remaining when Cody McIntyre would rush into the Ice Dogs end and cut to the net and lift the puck over the goalie and just under the crossbar.  The Capitals would lead 1-0 after the first period.

The Ice Dogs would pull even less than a minute into the second period with a goal of their own to even up the game.  Cody McIntyre would fire a hard wrist shot that would find the back of the net to give Walkerton a brief lead.  Arran-Elderslie would tie the game up again less than a minute later.  The two teams would continue to battle and Walkerton would be rewarded when Jack Walter slid the puck into the corner of the net after taking a pass from Chase Kaufman.  Walkerton would take a 3-2 lead into the final period.

The third period would see both teams continue to battle and the Ice Dogs would tie the game just over 2 minute into the period.  The Capitals would again go ahead with 10 minute remaining after some strong work along the boards, Mason Lina would send a pass back to the blue line where Chase Kaufman would fire a shot from just inside the blue line that would beat the net-minder after going through a maze of legs.  The Ice Dogs would respond with six and half minute remaining and then score the eventual game winning goal with just under 5 minutes remaining.  The Capitals would pull out all of the stops but would not be able to draw even.  The Capitals would take a late penalty but would continue to pressure in the Ice Dogs zone.

Another strong performance from the Walkerton Capitals but they wound up coming up on the short end of the score board.  The boys should take away that their game continues to improve as the season continues.  Wins and losses aside the boys are developing a great hockey skill set that they will use for many years to come.
