Atom Girls LL, 2012-2013 (Walkerton Minor Hockey Association)

The Atom Girls successful season ended on Sunday with a 2-1 loss to West Grey in the championship game of their Year End Tournament.

The Walkerton Capitals Atom Girls had a perfect weekend on the ice winning all five of their games to capture the championship at the 35th Annual Orangeville Tigers Sweetheart Tournament.

Shannon Wagner and Lauren O'Hagan each scored in the third period to lift the Walkerton Atom Girls past Blyth-Brussels. The win was the fourth consecutive victory for the team and improves their record to five wins and five losses. Megan Bell netted her first goal of the season to open the scoring for Walkerton. O'Hagan, Emma Fortney and McKenna Hickling each assisted on goals. The four game win streak included victories over West Grey, Mildmay-Teeswater (LL) and Aaron Elderslie. Next up in the schedule are games against Mildmay-Teeswater (LL) and Georgian Shores.
