Pee Wee Girls Take 2 Points in Lucan
The Walkerton Capitals Pee Wee Girls Rep team travelled to Lucan on Sunday, Nov 4, looking for a win and 2 points, and they worked hard to achieve it.
Steph Y. was the first to make it onto the scoresheet, scoring the game's first goal with 4:34 remaining in the first period, assisted by Avery W. and Brook S.
The girls worked hard to kill off two penalties without any damage being done.
At 9:18 of the second period, a scuffle just outside of Lucan's blue line provided Sammy H. with some cover as she sent a blistering shot through several players and towards the Lucan net. The puck slid through the goalie's pads and found the twine, putting Walkerton in the lead 2 - 0.
Lucan scored one goal in the second period and proved to be tough competition, but the girls continued to play solid through the third period to hang onto their lead and take the win, final score 2 - 1.
