McKee earns a Goal and an Assist in Victory
In a rare week day game Weber's Electric visited Normanby and chalked up a 4-3 win. Defencewoman Georgina McKee scored Walkerton's second goal of the game from the Blue Line - the opponent's goalie never saw it coming!
Normanby opened the scoring in the first period and held that 1-0 lead into the second period until Scott Eddyvean scored, assisted by Drew Cobean. McKee's goal, assisted by Connor Johnson gave Walkerton the lead. A minute later Joel Pletch cushioned the lead. Cobean and Ben Schmidt earned the assists.
22 seconds later Cobean shot one past the Normanby goalie in what appeared to seal the victory. Eddyvean and McKee were awarded the helpers on Cobean's goal. Normanby was not prepared to call it a night and scored two unanswered goals in the remaining 7 minutes but the comeback fell short one goal.
Goaltender Trevor Dillon was outstanding once again in defending Walkerton's net.
Walkerton will visit Durham on Saturday at 2 pm and host the Listowel Cyclones Sunday at 8:30 am.
