Hat Trick for Cobean in 5-4 win
In a rare midweek game Weber's travelled to Harriston to face the Minto Mad Dogs. Walkerton Weber's Electric defeated the home team in a tight match right down to the wire.
Action was end to end in this match up which saw no scoring until Drew Cobean scored on a perfect pass to the net by Scott Eddyvean with 3 minutes left in the first period. Connor Johnson fed Cobean for his second goal of the night with under a minute left but Minto narrowed the lead to one heading into the 2nd frame.
Jared Pletch and Eddyvean scored in the second, with AP Will Schmidt and Johnson collecting an assist on each goal. Minto came back from the break after the second, fired up and scored two power play goals early in the period. Walkerton held onto the 1 goal lead until Minto tied the game with 1:47 seconds remaining.
Cobean earned the hat trick with 48 seconds left in the game, on an unassisted goal getting past the Mad Dog's keeper with a clever deke. Goaltender Trevor Dillon protected the net to seal the victory for Walkerton.
