A Win Against Windsor
The Godfather Pizza Pee Wee Lower Lakes Girls added an exciting win to their belts on October 15th against Windsor.
Walkerton got right down to business with Walsh (7) scoring two goals within the first two minutes of play. Assists were given by Thompson and VanLoon on the first goal, and McKague on the second. Windsor came back and scored in the third minute of play. The action, however, didn't stop here. In the last three minutes of play Walkerton scored once more with a goal from Holyome (12). Windsor again, retaliated with a goal, bringing the final score after the 1st period to 3-2 for Walkerton.
The second period kept the fans on the edge of their seats as Windsor tied up the game with a goal early on. Both teams worked hard but Walkerton would pull ahead by the end of the 2nd period with another goal, and hat trick, by Walsh (7) assisted by Thompson and McKague.
The third period saw much action in both ends. Walkerton defense fought hard and Priestap made several saves between the pipes. The score remained the same for the first half of the period but with five minutes left, Walkerton put on the pressure once again with goals by Young (5) and Konecny (11). Assists by Thompson, Schnurr,Holyome and McKague. Windsor made one more attempt, scoring in a scramble in front of Walkertons net, but Walkerton ultimately cinched the win with one more goal by Walsh, her fourth of the game, assisted by Thompson and VanLoon. Final score in this exciting game was 7-4. Way to go Walkerton!
