Milverton Visits Walkerton in Their Only Game of the Weekend
The Walkerton Pee Wee Rep Lower Lake Girls had a quieter weekend with only one game Saturday on home ice. Milverton made the trip and started off the game with a goal just over three minutes into the game on a rebound shot. Walkerton was unable to get the puck in the Milverton net to tie it up, and the first period ended with Milverton up 1 - 0.
A great deal of the second period remained scoreless until the Walkerton Girls finally turned thier luck around! With just over two minutes left in the second, Crowe and VanLoon were able to feed Konecny the puck for a goal to tie it up. They did not stop there. Walkerton took the go ahead point with only 21 seconds left on the clock. Scoring this goal was Meyer, assisted by Holyome and Schnurr.
The third period sealed the deal with a goal early on by Holyome, assisted by McKague and Young, and two minutes later another goal by Walsh, assisted by Konecny. This brought the game to a 4-1 lead for Walkerton, and Milverton was unable to rebound from their early on lead.
With the regular season well over half way now, the Walkerton Pee Wee Rep Girls are in great shape. Their stats are 10 wins, 1 loss, and 2 ties with only 9 games remaining! Great job girls! A true team effort!
