Prestige Atoms Tally up their first Win
In a late afternoon game in Mitchell, Prestige Atoms were in search of their first win of the season. This afternoon game was where they found it, with a 1 to 0 win against Mitchell.
During the first period, each team held their own. Forwards for Walkerton, Nicholas Fairminer and Thomas Crummer, held their lines tight along with the Prestige defense lead by Ryan Girdler. With the pace of the game quick, there was a lot of back and forth action between the two teams. By the end of the first period the period was left scoreless.
The second period was action packed with penalties racked up by both sides and the only goal of the game. With a rush to the Mitchell net from Prestige forwards, forward Jordan Lang found a well positioned Jacob Regier, Regier then sent the shot past the Mitchell goaltender to chalk up the only goal of the game.
The third period saw a scramble from both teams, Mitchell to tie it up and Prestige to keep their one goal lead. Forwards Jacob Weiler, Christian Kieffer and Tyler Priestap all found opportunities to to rush the Mitchell net but the puck could not find the hole to pop in another goal. Prestige goaltender, Matthew Donnelly continues to play well between the pipes.
