Quish Earns the Shutout in 3-0 Victory vs. Durham
Goaltender Aidan Quish made several key saves to earn tonight's shutout and win #8 in the 10 game WOAA Cruickshank Division Round Robin Play, with only one game remaining.

The McIntee boys knew that they held their own destiny tonight - win and stay in the fight for 1st place and a spot in the final, or a loss - and hang up their skates!  You can imagine that the latter choice was NOT the favourite!

The first period ended scoreless and then early in the second period Captain Brayden McKenzie earned Walkerton's first goal unassisted, and Noah Leslie scored on a power play opportunity minutes later to take a 2-0 lead.   Leslie's goal was assisted by Dorian Charette and Carter Buehlow.

Quish made several key saves tonight and held off a very determined Durham team who also needed tonight's win to seal their fate.  Aidan came up big on a couple of breakaways and earned a huge cheer from the Walkerton Bench and the Walkerton fans!!

Evan Visser scored in the third period, assisted by Dakota Weiler and Drew Cobean to extend the lead to 3-0.  Determined to keep the 3-0 lead and a victory was enough incentive for the boys to play a smart defensive third period.   A couple penalties late in the third offered Durham a 6 on 3 attack and although Walkerton was not able to capitalize on the empty net they were successful in denying Durham a goal and preserving the well deserved shutout for Quish.

Walkerton visits the Mildmay Monarchs on March 10th for the 10th and final game of the Round Robin Playoffs.  The first place team,  after the 10 game home and away series,  will play the first place team of the second division in a best of 5 series to determine the WOAA Cruickshank Division Champions.  The Minto Mad Dogs lead the other division.
