Bounce Back Win
Chase Hauck earns 3rd shutout of season.

After an understaffed squad lost a hard fought battle to an undefeated Minto Maddogs, the team seemed to have something to prove. Up against a tough team in the Drayton Defenders back at home it wasn't going to be easy.
With focus on passing and positional play, the coaching staff urged the guys to keep playing hard and the way they know how and with that the goals will come. With the drop of the puck the guys set out to prove that they were undeterred and ready to bounce back.

Straight out of the gates, the guys started their unrelenting attack of an overwhelmed Drayton squad. Austin Hogg opened the scoring a minute and a half into the 1st on a great three way passing play orchestrated by Ryan Lair and Steven Ottewell. Only two minutes later Lair buried his first of the game on a solid keep in at the line by Michael Fortney and a good pass out front by big Ed Mckee. As the period rolled on the boys continued the onslaught of a seemingly stunned Defenders team. With pure determination in the corner big Ed worked a puck free to Ottewell who hit a wide open Andrew Young. Young danced his way around the outstretched Drayton goalie to net a beauty and give the boys a 3-0 lead going into the 2nd.

The 2nd period saw the same great play and intensity that got the boys their lead. Far from being finished the boys got right after it. On a solid defensive play  Daylan Hopcraft banked the puck up the boards to a streaking Young who made a perfect unselfish pass on a 2 on 0 to Hogg who fired home his second of the game. Less than 35 seconds later, Willy Schmidt busted through the defense on a breakaway and fired home his first of the game on a great show of speed and shooting. With Hauck holding down the pipes and not letting Drayton on the board, the home squad took with them a 5-0 score into the 3rd.

With all the momentum going into the 3rd the boys just kept on charging forward. Less than a minute and a half in, Coleman Meyer netted his first of the game on a great set up from Ottewell and Hofcraft. With the boys playing their positions and not letting the opposition control the puck, they found themselves in the offensive zone yet again. Setting up another three way passing play from Lair to big Ed and finding it`s way to an open Schmidt who jammed home his second of the game. With time winding down and Drayton trying to spoil Hauck`s perfect game, the young tender turned all attempts aside. Leaving room for the exclamation point made by Ottewel in the final seconds on yet another three way set up by Young and Schmidt, Tic tac goal!

A great performance again guys, you have done a great job so far keep up the passing and the hard work.
